The healthful sources of mineral water, in particular with high contain of radon in Khmilnyk are developed and operate. Besides, 21 sources of table water were developed; mineral water like as «Mirgorodska» was found.
Vinnytsya Region has large beds of primary kaolin that makes 44% of the general beds in Ukraine. Glukhivetsky Mining and Dressing Integrated Works manufactures almost one third of kaolin in the state and exports it to 12 countries of the world.
Shakhtynsky deposit of fluorite (fluor spar) has a great prospect that is one of the powerful deposits of Europe.
It is found and developed three deposits of granites. Unique decorative properties of Vinnytsya granites enable to make stone, facing plates, window-sills, monuments and others.
Vinnytsya Region is a single in Ukraine with large supplies of pelionite. For the first time in Podil they have found bauxite – ore for aluminium. By estimation of geologists, the prognosis resources of bauxite make almost 3 mln. tons.
Raw material potential of building production is represented by crushed stone raw material, cut stone, carbonate breeds for production of local astringent materials, raw material for coarse ceramics, sands, separate deposits of facing stone, expanded clay raw material.
Economic potential of the region is over 380 large, medium and small enterprises of different forms of property, which production of goods are distributed by following: food industry – 65,8%, electric energy – 10,6%, machine-building and metal-working – 7,2%, light industry – 3%, chemical and petrochemical industry – 3%, industry of building materials – 2,5%, woodworking and cellulose-paper – 1%.

The regional economy got over USD 116 mln. of direct foreign investments.
The regional agricultural complex enters top five regions of Ukraine by production volumes. Over 850 agricultural structures successfully function in the agroindustrial complex. Except for it, 1240 peasant (farm) structures operate.
The area of agricultural lands makes over 2 mln. ha. Fertility of lands makes 60-65 units in the region on average.
Basic specialization in plant growing is production of cereals and sugar beets; in stock-raising – production of meat and milk. The share of plant growing is 61% and stock-raising – 39%.
The region successfully develops the program of habitation building. Habitation of the improved planning and finishing, apartment houses and cottages by individual projects are built. Experience of Holding Company «Kyivmiskbud» is widely introduced. The programs of building of habitation for young families, individual building in the village, gasification of cities and villages are developed. The collective of Scientific Introduction and Innovation Enterprise «Strum» that is general contractor of boundary crossing «Yagotyn» got great experience of building of transport structures (highways and boundary crossings).
By coefficient of territory transit the region takes first place in Ukraine. The density of roads is one of the highest in Ukraine and makes 356 km. Three main gas pipelines Urengoy–Pomary –Uzhgorod, «Soyuz», Daszawa–Kyiv pass through the region's territory; 9300 km of gas-distributing networks and also oil pipeline Odessa – Brody are being operated.
The highways of national value Kyiv–Uman–Odessa, Kyiv– Khmelnytsky–Lviv–Chop, Kyiv–Berdychiv–Mogyliv-Podilsky pass through the region's territory.
By density of rails per 1000 sq. km of territory the region takes fifth place in Ukraine. Foreign economic activity plays important role in the economy of Vinnytsya Region.
The volume of foreign trade is annually increased. Positive balance between export and import is observed.
The region exports much food and feed-stuff grain, meat and meat products, food stuffs, ethyl food alcohol, machines and mechanisms, building and road-building materials.
Foreign trade operations are performed with over 90 countries of the world, in particular with Russia, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Poland, Slovakia and Austria.
So, joint Ukrainian-Austrian ventures «Podillya-OBST» and «Luka» used foreign investments, have introduced modern technology of growing of fruit products, their processing and fully satisfied internal market with concentrated fruit juices, fruit fillers for milk products, medical (for diabetics) and children's food.
Products are exported to 25 countries of the world. In the prospect Vinnytsya Region as one of the biggest agricultural regions of Ukraine can take certain niche of the world market of ecologically friendly agricultural raw material and food.
Vinnytsya Region has powerful scientific-educational potential. 32 organizations perform scientific and technical activity: 10 independent scientific-research and seven design organizations; research laboratories, five experimental stations, six design-technological subsections entering industrial enterprises function in six higher educational establishments.
Scientific researches are conducted in National Medical University named after M. I. Pirogov. International Academy of Integration Anthropology was created at University and successfully functions here; its members are over 100 national and foreign scientists.
Vinnytsya State Technical University perform large volume of scientific-research works on creation of the automated systems of prognostication and optimum management of 110-35-10 kV electric system modes on the basis of criterion methods of similarity theory.
Due to cooperation of scientists and engineers of these two scientific establishments the modern devices for diagnostics of different human pathologies were created.
Ukrainian Scientific-Research Institute of Forages, Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences has developed technologies of green crop growing.
Scientific Introduction Enterprise «InnoVin», State Enterprise «Geosystem», OJSC «Infrakon», SPE «ASTOK» Ltd, design subsection OJSC «Terminal», OJSC «ATEKO» (Turbivsky machine works) and other structures create modern machines and systems of instrument-making, hydraulic gears, communal machine-building providing high technical level and competitiveness of products.
Vinnytsya Region is famous by resorts and healthful sources of mineral waters, like as famous «Regina» and «Barchanka». Sanatorium «Avangard» in Nemyriv is known in Ukraine by medical service; resort with the sources of radon water in Khmilnyk got great popularity.
To services of holiday-makers there are rest-homes «Girsky» (Mogyliv-Podilsky District) and «Sokilets» on the South Bug River.
The region highly value cultural inheritance: under state guard – 3144 sights of history and culture and 20 museums, including National Museum of M. I. Pirogov, Museum of M. M. Kotsyubynsky and Mark Vovchok, O. V. Suvorov and Aviation Museum.
Regional population pays great attention to development of physical training and sport. Over 50 world-class athletes perform sport activity in the area.
